Anni Rossi + Rollin Hunt @ Baby Simple

The last time I was in Baby Simple, it was full of cunts in pink shirts waving £10 notes in barmans faces. I wasn't planning on going back. However, it seems to have reinvented itself and one of the trendiest gig venues in Oxford, complete with screenprinted wallpaper and mahogany coffee tables. And Tues night it hosted Anni Rossi, a viola-plucking-Reginaesque signing to 4AD. The intimate gig was one of the best I've seen all year with amazing support from her partner Rollin Hunt, Ute and the infamous Aiden Canaday. Rollin, I think, may have just stolen the show with "My Pamphlet" and quirky inter-song comments about Russell Brand and The Sun. I bought some cd's from them afterwards (covers drawn by Anni as she had lost the originals on the train)
